A keepsake from Banneux to hold close to your heart

Carry a reminder of Banneux with this Our Lady of the Poor medal in 925 silver. Its relief portrays the contemplative face of Our Lady, gently framed by her veil. The antiqued finish emphasises her features and gives this small Marian pendant a particularly peaceful presence.

Its hexagonal shape, unusual among religious medals, gives the piece a distinctive personality. Measuring 11 × 20 mm, it discreetly accompanies daily prayer or preserves the memory of a pilgrimage to the Belgian shrine of Banneux.

Three reasons to choose it

An authentic connection with Banneux: dedicated to Our Lady, who introduced herself there as the “Virgin of the Poor”.
Distinctive Marian design: a hexagonal shape with a finely sculpted profile.
Precious spiritual gift: ideal after a pilgrimage, for a First Communion, Confirmation or Marian devotee.

Features: 925 silver • antiqued patinated finish • hexagonal shape • dimensions: 11 × 20 mm • weight: 2.6 g • bail.

The gentleness of Our Lady of Banneux in a devotional pendant

This Our Lady of the Poor of Banneux medal in 925 silver offers a discreet connection with one of Belgium’s major Marian shrines. Its relief portrays Mary with her face inclined in a peaceful attitude that naturally invites contemplation.

More than a simple pendant, it may become a pilgrimage keepsake, a personal expression of Marian devotion or a meaningful gift for someone special.

A hexagonal medal with traditional charm

This medal stands out through its hexagonal border, which elegantly frames the profile of Our Lady. Her veil and facial features are enhanced by the delicate contrasts of the antiqued silver finish.

The word “antiqued” refers to the patinated finish applied to the silver, not to the age of the item. It highlights the relief and gives the pendant its traditional appearance. Measuring 11 × 20 mm and weighing 2.6 g, it remains delicate and comfortable to wear.

Who is Our Lady of the Poor?

Between 15 January and 2 March 1933, the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared eight times to a young girl named Mariette Beco in Banneux, near Liège. She introduced herself as the “Virgin of the Poor” and delivered a message centred on prayer, compassion and care for those facing hardship.

The apparitions and their message were recognised by the Bishop of Liège in 1949. Banneux has since welcomed pilgrims from many countries. This medal recalls that story and the special place of Our Lady of Banneux in Marian devotion.

Wear, pray with or pass it on

This Banneux pilgrimage medal may be worn daily on a suitable chain, kept in a prayer space or offered after visiting the shrine. It is also suitable for a First Communion, Confirmation, birthday or thoughtful spiritual gesture.

It does not promise protection or healing; it accompanies a personal journey of faith and prayer.
