This book is the notebook of a herbalist who practiced Place Saint-Jean in Lyon for more than forty years: Madame Simone Chavassieu. Today, Pascale Maasdam, who was her assistant, tells us about "the fine blends, beverages, herbal teas against ailments ... the secrets of health". Preparations for adults but also for children.
Everyone agrees that herbal infusions or decoctions can help with functional imbalances such as depressive states, lack of sleep, liver problems, etc. The plant contains a set of wonderfully balanced components whose joint action helps to avoid any disorders or poorly controlled side effects. It is a gentler way of approaching the disease, more respectful of the individual's vibrations. Pascale Maasdam wrote this book so that the knowledge of this herbalist is not lost and so that her memory is not erased.
Pascale Maasdam was born in Lyon in the St Jean district, a stone's throw from the cathedral. First a teacher, her meeting with Simone Chavassieu, a qualified herbalist working at Place St Jean, will turn her life upside down. Having become her student and then her assistant, her work for more than twenty years in the herbalist's shop gave her the desire to share her knowledge and experience in the service of adults and children, to whom she has always felt very close.
