Logotherapy is still little known in France. In many European countries and in America, on the other hand, it is considered a method of choice for treating a large number of psychopathological conditions, particularly psychological disorientation, anxiety, and psychogenic depression. Its founder, Viktor Frankl, who was a professor of psychiatry and neurology at the University of Vienna, Austria, asserts that the search for the meaning of life and its realization are essential steps to psychological and moral balance, and to the well-being of the individual.

Logotherapy, or therapy oriented towards meaning (logos), is inspired by the fundamental data of the philosophy of existence and phenomenology. The notions of freedom and responsibilities and the search for the meaning of life play a primordial role in logotherapy. These are the principles of this new psychotherapeutic method that are presented in this small book.

Léo ABRAMI saw the hour and continued his schooling in France. Then he studied psychology at the University of Geneva, where he benefited from the teaching of Jean Piaget, famous for his work on the development of intelligence in children, as well as that of the humanist and psychotherapist Charles Baudoin, with whom he became familiar with psychoanalysis. His path then led him to the United States of America, where he continued his training as a psychotherapist, theologian and historian. Today, he directs the Arizona Institute of Logotherapy and teaches Jewish history and philosophy at the Jewish Studies Institute in Phoenix.
