Archangel Raphael - His mission, his worship

The earthly mission that Archangel Raphael had to fulfill in the Old Testament, according to the very account of Sacred Scripture, is therefore for every Catholic a most authentic story, if ever there was one.

This admirable story would be enough to make us know and love the Angels, to make us appreciate their ministry to us. May it inspire in us a special devotion to one of the most illustrious of them all, the Seraphim, who is responsible for leading the travelers, healing the infirm and driving out the devil.

In these various capacities he was, according to the Fathers of the Church, the forerunner and the figure of the One who called himself when he came to earth "the Way, the Truth, the Life".
