The French prayer “Ô Marie conçue sans péché, priez pour nous qui avons recours à vous” means: “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” The date 1830 recalls the apparitions reported by Saint Catherine Labouré on Rue du Bac in Paris.

On the other side, the cross rises above the letter M, recalling the bond between Christ and his mother and Mary’s presence at the foot of the Cross. The two hearts represent the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The twelve stars evoke the biblical image of the woman crowned with stars.
