Souvenir Dessert Fork - Banneux Notre-Dame Chapel - Cross

This small silver-plated souvenir dessert fork from the Shrine of Banneux is a delicate devotional item commemorating one of Belgium’s most famous Marian pilgrimage sites. It depicts the Chapel of Our Lady of the Poor at Notre-Dame de Banneux, where the Virgin Mary appeared to the young Mariette Beco. Following the miraculous Marian apparitions, Mariette Beco built the chapel at the request of the Virgin Mary, and the town was renamed Banneux-Notre-Dame. The Virgin of the Poor came to bring a message of hope and to point out a spring reputed to be miraculous, healing many sick or injured pilgrims.

The top of the spoon features a delicate depiction of the Banneux-Notre-Dame chapel surmounting a cross, while the handle is decorated with elegant intertwined scrolls ending above a star.
