Louis Segond, professor of theology at the faculty of Geneva, was hired in 1865 by the Company of pastors of Geneva to publish a translation of the Bible. This translation is made on the Hebrew and Greek originals. 25 years of work were necessary to adapt and rejuvenate the text.
